Solar 360 Mini

Data is only used when footage from the camera is viewed via the app. This includes watching live and recorded footage via the app. The camera recording 24/7 does not use any 4G data. We send each 4G camera with a Farmstream SIM card, which automatically switches between the best network in your area: EE, O2, 3 and Vodafone)

We have a custom SIM plan for £90 per year, which gives you 80 hours of streaming each year (more than enough to regularly check in). We also have monthly plans available, along with larger plans for heavier usage.

Our cameras are fully unlocked and can be used with an alternative SIM of your choosing.

Setup is simple and designed for plug-and-play use. Simply mount the camera in an area with a 4G signal, place the panel in an unshaded spot (south-facing), and you’re good to go! We have deliberately made the panel bigger than it needs to be, as we know sunshine in the UK (and especially Scotland) isn't always guaranteed. The Solar 360 Mini is built for the UK climate — including Scottish winters. We've deliberately over-specced both the panel and the battery so it keeps running through short days and long stretches of cloud.

The numbers:

• 26W solar panel (much larger than typical 4G solar cameras at this price)
• Built-in battery holds approximately 2 weeks of charge with no solar input at all
• In real-world testing across Scotland we've had no winter-shutdown issues

To get the best out of it:

• Mount the solar panel south-facing and unshaded (this matters more than panel size)
• Keep the panel within the supplied 2m cable run from the camera
• Avoid placing it under trees, eaves or in the shadow of buildings during midday

Farmstream cameras work with a free app, called CamHipro, and this is designed for use on a smart phone or tablet/iPad device. The CamHipro app is available to download on iPhones and Android devices. 

 Farmstream cameras can also be linked to a PC. We do recommend initially setting the cameras up via a smartphone using the CamHipro app, and once setup, they can be linked to a Windows PC or MAC. Software and instructions for this are available towards the bottom of the setup page on the Farmstream website: https://www.farmstream.co.uk/setup

To keep power consumption low enough for solar and battery use, the Solar 360 Mini uses intelligent power-saving recording:

Motion-triggered recording: When movement is detected, the camera ramps up to full quality and records at 15 frames per second — giving you clear, smooth footage of the event.

Standby recording: When nothing is happening, the camera conserves power and records at 1 frame per second — still capturing what's going on, but using far less battery.

Live view: When you open the app to watch live, the feed adapts to your connection speed and typically runs at 5–10fps. This is purely for real-time viewing and isn't representative of the recorded quality — the saved clips will always be higher quality.

All recorded footage is saved to the included 64GB microSD card (upgradeable to 256GB) and can be accessed directly through the CamHipro app on your phone — no need to remove the card. Once full, the oldest footage is automatically overwritten.

Yes, there is no limit to the number of devices that can connect to and view footage from a Farmstream camera. Each camera comes with a unique identification number and is password protected. As long as each device has access to the UID and password then they will be able to view footage from the camera.  

The maximum number of cameras that can link to one phone is 64 cameras.
