SCOTLAND ONLY 🏴

The Scottish Government’s Future Farm Investment Scheme (FFIS) 2025 is officially open, giving primary producers the chance to secure upfront funding for capital items that drive efficiency, sustainability and climate resilience.

Key Dates at a Glance

Grant window Status
Opens: 14 July 2025
Closes: 22 August 2025

Important: FFIS offers upfront funding only. Do not purchase items until you receive your approval letter, or your claim may be rejected.

What Counts as “Eligible” in 2025?

Unlike previous rounds, there’s no fixed shopping list. Instead, applications are scored on how well your chosen item supports at least one of these objectives:

  • Improve business efficiency and long-term viability
  • Protect, restore or enhance the environment
  • Reduce greenhouse gas emissions on farm
  • Mitigate the effects of climate change

Each objective you address can raise your score, so be specific about the problem you’re solving and the measurable outcome you expect (e.g. fewer road miles, lower diesel use, reduced stress events for livestock).

For full scoring guidance, see the official FFIS Grant Scheme 2025 criteria.

Farmstream Cameras – A Smart Addition to Your Application

Remote monitoring technology is increasingly recognised for its ability to cut emissions, reduce labour hours and improve animal welfare. If these benefits align with your business goals, consider including one of the following in your FFIS bid:

  • 4G 360° PTZ Camera – £349.00 inc VAT
  • WiFi 360° PTZ Camera – £299.00 inc VAT

How a Farmstream Camera Ticks the Scoring Boxes

  • Efficiency: Check calving or lambing sheds from home, reducing late-night drives and saving labour hours.
  • Environmental stewardship: Fewer vehicle journeys cut diesel use and lower on-farm greenhouse-gas emissions.
  • Climate resilience: Early-warning visuals let you respond quickly to flooding and heat stress.
  • Security: High-definition PTZ coverage helps deter theft and reduce costly losses.

Tip: In your application, link the camera’s benefit directly to one or more FFIS objectives.
